Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving to all! I had to work today, but it's been fun with a potluck and an excellent team to work with.

And I got some family time before and will get some after today... Had a blast with Jenny and Cynda Tuesday on a girls night of sushi, Twilight, and New Moon, then candy and baking Wednesday - YUM BUTTERCREAM PULL CANDY ROCKS MY SOCKS OFF! :D And you can only make it if you have a few people because you have to get to pulling FAST!! Billy and Katie Beth even joined in the fun!

Then home to my hubby for a lovely evening, and he's waiting for me so we can ride back to Owensboro in one car. Yay not driving back alone :).

We've got big plans for this weekend too - More family time, and more girls time!

Hope you and yours are well today - I know I have much to be thankful for, hope you do too!

Pumpkin Cheesecake!

YUM!!! (or at least I hope so) It is sitting on my kitchen counter cooling - I think it's still too soft to eat just yet - but it smells good and the filling tasted AWESOME before it was cooked! :) Can't wait to taste my first attempt at cheesecake!!

Triple Coupons vs Me

And I won! spent a total of $53 and saved $108!!! ($43/$60 first trip and $20/$48 the second).. so I got $161 worth of groceries for $53 - ROCK ON!

I'm so much more a fan of triples now than I ever was before - I was skeptical that it was worth it, but am now super pleased with myself and convinced it was worth it :D.

And that included some regular "needed" items like milk and apples and such that didn't have coupons, and some supplies for Holiday candy making that I picked up for next to nothing.

Frugality has it's perks!

Including tonight's dinner obtained from a Groupon - Mmmmm! Fondue!!

P.S. For those of you that will notice (I know you're out there!) The numbers above do not match the receipt because they did $6.50 worth of price adjusting on the first trip with coupons I found later, and $2 on the second receipt, so the numbers spent/saved got moved around :)

Bread making!

So. I got a bread maker for Christmas a few years ago (3?) and since we've moved into our lovely new house (yeah, yeah, 1.5 years ago doesn't make it new news, but that's not the point) I've been making bread instead of buying it.

It's. Awesome.

10 minutes of ingredient dumping and forget it about it. Come back 4 hours later and you have bread and your house smells all yummy!

My favorite recipe is the Amish Bread recipe my mom found and gave me... edited of course to our liking ( I use 1 cup warm water, and 2 tsp bread machine yeast). MMMMM Yummy and so easy and predictable. I swear it comes out awesome everytime I stick to the recipe (The times I get excited and add other things it's a toss -up, but I've found that a tablespoon or so of gluten, wheat germ and/or ground flax seed usually doesn't hurt it :) )

So anyway - I saw this post on breadmaking today from Little House in the Suburbs and it made me smile and think about my bread making - especially since the breadmaker pictured looks just like my friend at home!

my next endeavor I think will be cinamon rolls... anybody have any good, easy recipes to recommend?

Battery Charge

Lance: (after I hearing my phone sing with a text message) "Your phone has a different tone. It's faster or something, it used to be slower."

me: That's what happens when the battery is charged.

:) tee hee hee.

Well I'm new at this - but here goes.

Today, I am shining my sink per the FLYlady's guidelines. It is supposed to make me feel better about, well, everything... So here goes! I'll let you know how it turns out! :)
